Assignment 4: Reflection-in-Presentation

Assignment 4 marks the culmination of students' theories of writing. For this reflection, students revisit their earlier theories and maps of writing, along with their reflections and journals, and they finalize their theories of writing. To illustrate their theories, students discuss their work in ENC 1102 and concurrent courses, all of which is presented in their final ePortfolios.

To the right you can see an example of an ENC 1102 student's final map. If you click the image, you can see the student's complete reflection-in-presentation from her ePortfolio.

Teacher and Peer Response

Students receive feedback on their fourth maps from both their peers and me, and they draw on these responses as they finalize their theories and maps.

Model Texts

To help students better understand the work of reflections-in-presentation, I bring in sample sections of reflections for class discussion. I use sample sections in place of entire reflections because I do not want students to replicate other reflections.
